What is True North?

True North is our resiliency program

Studies have shown that the more resilient a person is prior to a crisis or significant life event, the better that person will navigate through that event. These programs are designed to help people strengthen their spiritual foundation before an event or crisis, so they are better equipped to come through it in a healthy way with less likelihood of prolonged trauma like PTSD. If not, the Peers and professionals from our COMPASS Program are available to help pick people up and walk with them until they can walk on their own. These programs help improve retention and readiness while improving the overall well-being of our force.

Spiritual Resilience

Spiritual resilience is a way of strengthening the soul of a person. When the soul is strong, people can more easily overcome adversity, minimize moral injury, diminish the impacts of PTSD, establish ethical/moral boundaries and understand how their personal beliefs tie into existential questions of purpose, life and death.

This program helps Soldiers come to grips with and reconcile these matters of conscience and soul before they are asked to make life or death decisons; making them stronger, more resilient Soldiers.

Relationship Workshops

Spiritual Resilience

This program has been known as "Strong Bonds".  Now, due to DoD changes, the workshops are called "Building Strong and Ready Teams". This change allows for more flexibility in curriculum to tailor the material specifically to the needs of the Soldiers and Families.

Many of the standard curriculum remains in place; workshops like: "5 Love Languages", "Financial Peace University", "Laugh Your Way to a Happy Marriage" and "Speed of Trust". Under the new model, curriculum can be adjusted to and customized based on needs of the unit. We still offer 4 hour, 8 hour and weekend workshops designed to strengthen communication, relationships and resiliency.

If you are interested in attending any of these events, please contact your unit chaplain or call CH Denny at 803-543-6049.

Team/Morale Building

Team/Morale Building

If you are looking for something different to engage your team  to optimize teamwork, trust and communication, then this may be a great program for you.

Our team building exercises take you and your team out of the office in civilian clothes, to go do events that promote teamwork and communication. We encourage having fun as a group by doing things like paintball where, as a team, you need to work together to meet an objective, ropes courses to improve trust with one another, or blind mini-golf where a team of two competes against other teams as one person is blind-folded and has to rely on their teammate to give them directions to get the ball in the hole. The team with the lowest score after 18 holes is the winning team. Other ideas are: A Day of Service to serve the community, an escape room, and horse assisted learning. There are numerous activities we can do to fit the unique needs of your organization.

If these sound like something that can benefit your team, please contact CH Denny at 803-543-6049.
